Ode to a writer.

Image via Wikipedia

William Shakespeare was a playwright

On the boards he spent his life

Centuries ago he placed quill to parchment

His genius defined entertainment

Even now across the ages

His works still performed upon the stages

Action, mystery, comedy, romance

No one has been able to enhance

The intrigue of Julius Caesar

Romeo and Juliet is a pleasure

You can have your Avatar

I’m sure it’s spectacular

But will it last the generations

And still be a sold-out sensation
