William Crawford is long gone by now,

he has been gone about a hundred years.

Some say he was a very wealthy miner,

leaving a hidden fortune worth millions.

****

But William died and left no map behind,

taking its location to his grave with him.

Some say that its in the Morgan mountains,

but the mountain has never told anyone.

****

Many men has tried to find Williams gold,

and many men has failed in the process.

But you cant go digging where you want to,

you have to have a permit before you can.

****

But once you have the necessary permit,

you still only have a  limited time to dig.

Forty eight hours is all you are allowed,

then you have to leave the mountain.

****

But luck may actually be on your side,

Williams lost gold may be found by you.

The government will get its share naturally,

whats left is yours to keep and spend.

****

But the task is far from easy understand,

William meant it to be well hide forever.

Please don’t take William for a stupid fool,

he knew what he was doing as a miner.

****

But I wish you good luck on you journey,

for the mountains holds is secrets well.

Williams lost treasures is still well buried,

do you have what it takes to locate it?

****

But Williams spirit guards his lost treasure,

he doesn’t intend to let go that easy either.

William buried it when he was still living,

he will guard his gold for all eternity as well.

i cant understand people burying gold to be hidden, nor to guard it once dead, as the dead cant spend it, it would be nice if someone deserved it found it, good poem.

It’s interesting how legends get started but even more interesting how they continue on.

Enjoyed this, Roxanne. Again, I’m wondering if this is a true story or another gem from your vivid imagination.
