Sometimes it’s hard for us to clear out the excess clutter in our lives. This includes people as well as things. When we have finally had enough, we make that much-needed change. We clear the way to make room for new things, new people and new opportunities to enter our lives.

The limbs of the old maple tree in the front yard

Usually still, now swaying and bending

Stray trash carelessly dropped by neighbors

Rolls like tumbleweed past my house

Good, because I’ve had enough of garbage

Being dumped on me

Staring through the dust streaked pane

I haven’t bothered to wash in a while,

There’s not been much worth looking at

I now see the gray skies in the distance

Not ominous as in the past

Just a promise of much-needed rain

The browning lawn and wilted flowers

Say everything that needs to be said

As the first droplets collect on the glass

I withdraw my head from the curtain

Focus my attention inward

Spring cleaning three months past due

Funny how quickly the dust collects

How fast the clutter can build

When the residents are neglectful

Now with some time to myself

A renewed energy stemming from within

The hope of new prospects

I get to work, clearing the cobwebs

Of my life, preparing

To receive a long awaited guest

This is very good. It does remind you of the clutter in your life and how we should get rid of it. Thanks for sharing.

It’s very important to get rid of clutter because all this stuck energy can drain us. The benefits are rewarding after. Open all your windows while you are cleaning too. You will feel more rejuvenated once you are done.

You are describing the situation I am in right now. But it is not hopeless, I am cleaning up some cobwebs in my mind, slowly but steadily. A better future is ahead, so why not concentrate on that?

So many people have issues moving on that’s why that can’t seem to find peace in their lives, but what wonders a bottle of windex would make in so many lives. What a positve piece I hope that this will bring healing to others.
