Ode to a bird.

Your freedom I’d have any day

To fly through the sky, through trouble.

Though our flight is locked in the fray

We could never burst your bubble.

And if in flight you chance to stall

You remain calm, regain your elegance

Harmony holds you, you’ll never fall

And the freedom you claim is not arrogance.

Should our madness ever prevail,

You will fly away, out of proximity,

You will escape though we will wail,

Our faults are not dreams, they are reality.

Yes my friend, my free friend.

I am bound behind these human bars,

I would gladly trade roles before the end,

For only you can see real stars.

You’ve caught everyman’s dream here – to fly. I’d love their wings, but not their brains.
