This is apoetic picturisation of the winter season as it arrives yet again on nature’s threshold.

Winters has entered softly into the world drenched
In the resplendent pastels of fall
Now the gaze of the sun is mellowed with lethargy
As its celestial sojourn is abbreviated
While the night yawns and stretches ebon limbs
With fingers icy with the chill of snow
In the platinum glow of the moonbeams like elixir
The carpets of sublime snow are agolw like silver rugs
Flowers fold away and squirrels retreat in burrows
Fires burn in hearths and bonfires with barbeques
Make one drool at the thought of culinary delights
Hot fragrant tea brews and coffee breathes redolent
As sips of ecstacy down frozen throats devour them slowly
Change of the summer cuisine and bored palate
And veils of mist descend on the drowsy earth to confound
The harvest is reapt already and corn kept in dstorage
Icy fingers and rosy cheeks within sheep fleece
Woven into sweaters and shawls of wool
Even the breathe is seen like clouds of smoke from lips
Water is like needle pricks to the frozen hands
That yearn the warmth of cosy quilts
Trees stand with leafless boughs laden with snow
Shivering in the chilly drought that blows
This is the season of slumbers, early nights and late mornings
Of succulent oranges and steaming hot chocolate
Of hugs and warm embraces to ward off cold
Both from the body and soul…
