Some people will never learn.

You thought you got the best of me,
But I was the one who had the last laugh.
I stayed strong in my convictions and found love,
While you let some loser make you stray from your path.

I’m the one who knows happiness,
I live daily with a smile on my face,
You’re still trying to strip yourself of your true beauty,
Just so you can fit on some playa’s mantle space.

You wanna be a trophy,
When you deserve to be treated like a national treasure,
I guess some people are just too shallow,
You’ll never be anything more than some object of pleasure.

You might as well be attached to a string,
You’re nothing but a yo-yo,
Why don’t you use that pretty little head of yours.
And tell that fool no.

It’s too late to get back with me,
But you’ll find another good man,
This time I advise you to appreciate him,
And to do all you can.

To show him you love him,
And accept when he is trying to do you right.
Give him your sweetest kiss,
And embrace him as much as you can, real tight.

Learn how to swallow your pride,
You don’t have to always win every battle,
If you keep on keeping score in love,
You’ll be left up the creek without a paddle.

Love is not a game,
It is the most precious emotion someone can feel.
I hope some day you find it,
But it won’t happen if you don’t learn how to be real.
