A poem about how words can leave the deepest scars.

Words can leave the deepest scars
Scars that will not heal or go away
So before you speak your words
Be mindful of what you say

Two scars lay upon my wrists
One for the intoxicated theif
The other for those vicious words
I never thought you’d speak

These scars remind me every day
Of the things we do and say
How many more will come?
How many until im simply done?

Id take back a hundred words
Relieve a torrent of pain
All I can do is say the word
Pray there is some healing

I may say it a tad too much
Though every time its true
Each and every time I feel it
The pain I have caused you.

Will you let the word heal?
Or roll right off your shoulder?
If I ever hear this word
I know what I will do.

I will forgive and relieve the pain
From me and from you
Id hope you would do the same
So here I will sit waiting.
