Hardly anyone likes going to work
But the money gives you choices
It is ironic that the thing that binds you
Should be the thing that also sets you free
Works gives you independence
It buys you the things you want and need
It develops your social skills and relationships
It gives you purpose to your week
It makes the weekend more inviting and worthwhile
I feel a sense of elation every payday
It is hard getting up in the morning
And sometimes I think should or shouldn’t I go?
But I am grateful that I have a means
Of making a living and supporting myself.
