A poem created by my 10 year old son based on the work of Wilfred Owen and G.K Chesterton.
World War 1
In the mud and squalor of the battlefield
It’s the politicians you should deny
If you refuse to go ‘over the top’
You’ll be an outcast, shot and die
For those who live to tell the tale
Their minds are full of horror
No love or beauty can survive
The masters of war have no honour
