A poem inspired by the melting clocks featured by Dali.

Worthless Inspiration

As time passes by, life stretches out,
Each day brings you closer to an end.

Sunlit hours melting away,
Leaving wicked shadows tickling your toes.

Falling apart at the brim,
Leaving pieces for others to find.

Perhaps a legacy- you’re trying to be remembered.
But with no one listening, who’s to retell your story?

Go through life awaiting your death and soon it will come.
Live each day as if it was your last and Death will greet you sweetly.

Awaiting death and expecting death, two separate visions,
Don’t let Death haunt you as it trails your step.

Slipping over the edge, your time has come
Fear fear itself, not your death

“It is your time,” spoken with chill.
Was it well spent or have you simply wasted away?
