Worthless scumbags!

They are black, white, and brown 

Many call them so

They are the thieves

The drug pushers

The predators of young children

Sex offenders and serial killers

Those that kill for the sake of killing

Inflicting wounds on us

With knives and guns 

For the sake of doing

Grievous bodily harm

Those without a conscience

They are the dregs of the earth

This is one of their names – scumbags

That we call these misfits that commit

All these heinous crimes

But are they all scumbags?

Aren’t some damaged psychologically?

Didn’t some come from broken homes?

Without a father or mother

To properly raise or care for them

Falling in with bad company

Joining gangs

How does society treat them?

We throw them into prison

Toss away the key

Leaving them to rot

Spending millions to care for them annually

The result being

They are the same troubled persons 

Becoming more mentally deranged

By not having no rehabilitation

In many cases locked away for life

Vermins, murderers, and rapists?

Society is still to find answers

To these major problems
