A poem about writing, under the stress of allerges, indulgences and other happenings.

With aching head and fuzzy brain,

I take up the pen and drop it again,

When the cotton wool disappears,

I try again to pen some words,

Spring is here and with it come,

Those allergies that make eyes water,

And noses drip like taps that won’t turn off.

The first is self inflected,

An over dose of chocolate was the cause,

The second comes from outside,

The flowers of a certain tree,

Just get the better of my brain it seems.

Indulging in eating stuff that causes fuzzy brains

Is a foolish self inflecting pass time.

When inspiration knocks at the door,

Ones mind should be ready to write it down.

This month has just flown by,

Though inspiration has been there,

Other distractions have got in the way.

Like ducks chasing each other,

Landing on my roof making such a din.

Mind you one distraction was very welcome,

A visit  to Dunedin for my granddaughters first Birthday.

But I bought back a virus it appears,

A throat that is sore and a cough that won’t go away.

Still all in all I have had a good time.

Oh, be better soon. Nothing is worse than allergies.well, almost nothing. Allergies are bad enough.

All kinds of challenges, but its a shame when all of them tend to attack you at once.
