Good they are actually opening your book. Oh my goodness they have read a few lines! Then the question. How did you come up with this?

Why do I write? I have been asked that many times.

How is it you put down your words in some form of a rhyme?

All so many questions. Answers to a few.

I write what I see in life and to a writers tune.

It is not in a song  because the words are not always there.

It’s a combination of tunes that seem to fill the air.

Sometimes it is the last tear that fell,

at a grave side , to one who gave all.

That sound  which  not everyone hears but to me  it is a call.

Can also be the laughter , left behind on a play ground

now  empty  for the night.

Gives me a need to pull out the pen , listen..then begin to write.

The smell of fresh washed hair, BBQ on the grill,

Stale  cigarette smoke,  or beers lined up to chill.

The song and melody of Life all call me to record.

So if you ask me why I write….I am  listening to every word.

I am very much the same. So many little things that happen can cause me to rush for my pen and pad. A beautiful poem.
