What of now when yesterday has passed?
Slowly I walk down the beach with the you I know
I talk to the you who understands my words so
I smile towards the you who was here in my heart
A warm feelings brings me back to the first start
The place where I met you, the you who I loved
The feeling so real it can hardly be believed
Everlasting, melting at your fingertips — don’t leave
The you I knew yesterday isn’t the you of today
The you of the present is going a different way
Behind those eyes are at the most of kindness, nothing else
And of sorrow, gone through you, me, heaven, and hell
Whatever happened to those words and that promise?
Wasn’t forever in my hands, always reality and never a wish?
Tell me why, when, how? Don’t you know? Can’t you see?
For these tears cried aren’t for you… not anymore, but for me.
