A poem about sadness, caused by love.
Your face is every face. Your smile is every smile.
I see you everywhere. After every short while.
Every time I think of you, it tortures me not be with you.
Crying tears of sadness, which have turned my heart blue.
Every time I see you, I just break down inside.
Every time I see you now, I want to run and hide.
I’m bound by chains too heavy to lift. My life, a perfect disaster.
What happened to the fairytale? The happy ever after?
I’m screaming inside to be let out of this pain. I don’t like myself anymore.
I’m scratching, grappling, trying to get in. Trying to get into love’s door.
I don’t know myself anymore. I am nothing, but a human wreck.
One brought to land, for everyone to sneer at and to inspect.
Sails torn, I stand half-drowned. My lips are moving, but I can’t make a sound.
What happened to me? What have I become? But most of all, where is the love?
