You Make me Cry.

I was all right for awhile
I could smile for awhile
But I saw you last night
You held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say, “Hello”

Oh, you wished me well
You, you couldn’t tell
That I’d been crying over you
Crying over you

When you said, “So long”
Left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying
Crying, crying

It’s hard to understand
But the touch of your hand
Can start me crying

I thought that I was over you
But it’s true, so true
I love you even more
Than I did before

But, darling, what can I do?
For you don’t love me
And I’ll always be crying over you
Crying over you

Yes, now you’re gone
And from this moment on
I’ll be crying, crying
Crying, crying
Yeah, crying, crying
Over you

Love and hate are passions so great they kinda intertwine at times. When I read this I thought about how things make us cry. Much of our emotional past is buried and things seem to happen to trigger tears. Tears in themselves seem to mean nothing to other people, and I get a sense of that here. Tears are necessary though, to wash away the pain we feel, don’t you think? Personal – I hate it when people don’t allow others to cry. We have that bodily mechanism for a reason .. is my thought. You did well to remind me of it and to think more deeply. Good on you!

I totally agree with the comment above. Sometimes we can’t appreciate something until it’s gone. And this is how you know that it is true love. It doesn’t matter how much time has passed by when you really love someone the mind and heart have a funny way of triggering those old emotions again.
