You are never really alone.

You single souls who find yourself alone tonight
So very distant from the ones that you choose to love
No warm body either to your left or on the right
Only the empty room’s chill covers you from above –

Know that you are never truly bereft and alone,
The world itself shares every one of your salted tears.
Some for tonight, or for a time long unknown
And some for every single one of their life-long years.
