In memory of my Aunt Ruby Dell West.
No, Ma – You were not my birth Mother.
You were not even there the day I was born.
But …
When my report card had no A’s
You simply smiled and said, ” You did your
best and that’s what counts.”
You Were There
When a crop didn’t do well and the farm market fell …
You simply said,” There’s more than one crop in the field,
and the hogs can be sold another day.”
You Were There
As I grew older and life got a little more complicated …
You taught me to meet each new day with determination
and face whatever came my way.
You were There
When my dreams didn’t come true and I thought
my world would end …
You taught me to have faith in God And believe
that He holds tomorrow.
You Were There
Ma, On this Mother’s Day as I remember the times when
‘You Were There’
I think of a time when we all will meet in Heaven …
Oh! What a Grand and Glorious Mother’s Day that will be!
‘For You Will Be There’
