This poem was written for anyone down on their luck and without optimism. I wrote it when I myself was feeling very unlucky with my life.

When worst comes to worst,

assume the best,

take shelter with a smile,

preserve what’s left,

for when the bombs come falling,

your life will be saved by your protection,

and though it will go on,

it will be swerved in a new direction,

one you’ve never quite experienced,

but you’ve heard of it before,

it’s been depicted in the movies,

like some protagonist washed ashore,

stripped of their possessions,

but they’re back on their feet,

willing to face any obstacle,

or misfortune they may meet,

and so I’m telling you this now,

so you’ll know what’s behind the blinds,

you’re not cursed, and it may get worse,

before you see some better times.
