You may be the owner

Of a most beautiful dog

With a white coat

And black ears

Which is the envy of dog lovers

The only problem is

This tremendous dog

Is ridden with fleas

That are driving you crazy

- – -

You brought him

To the vet

He prescribed medication

And a course of action

That would make him well

- – -

It remains a struggle

For you and your dog

Because it became a challenge

For him to conquer this affliction

- – -

This infestation

Has made him peevish

And he has been scratching

Himself raw

- – -

What do we do

If we were to have

Such an affliction

Like this dog

That we love so much?

- – -

Would we seek treatment

And hope

That too would

Hopefully pass?

- – - 

But if it doesn’t

What could we do?

Live with fleas?
