The confused young child crying because it feels the pain that has been bouncing off the walls…
The breaking of glass
smashed against a wall
shattered on the floor
thrown in anger
words screamed
things we never meant to say
bubbling, bubbling, bubbling
then finally boiling to the top
flowing over
scorching everything it touches
flames of hatred
longing to destroy
falling down
tripping over your own words
surpised this got so far
wondering how long you felt alone
how long you have needed to cry
blood rushing to your head
dizziness. confusion.
your hand is on the doorknob
ready to leave
ready to run away from it all
something makes you stay
is it the tear stained face
of the woman you fell in love with
once upon a happy time
or the confused young child
crying because it feels the pain
that has been bouncing off the walls
or the teenagers who hug you everymorning
despite you mood
they love you
or your grown up angel
who always looked up to you
but now turns away
staring at them
your hand is on the doorknob
you caused this pain
that you see in their eyes
will you stay
to say you are sorry
that you were wrong
or will you leave
because you believe they are better off
you hand is on the doorknob
your tears are drying on your cheeks
your loved ones are waiting
but how long will they wait
they are suffereing from your pain
the pain you feel inside
the pain you held in for too long
the pain you unleashed on them
and all too soon
your hand is on the doorknob.
