A poem about love and wanting to see someone so bad.

I bleed from my dreams,

Awaking to the gentle dawn.

Pushing back comfort’s warmth,

And sheet’s clean protection.

I stand as I am,

Whole and missing part.

You’re my mind’s

Sole focus,

You’re my heart’s

Sole longing,

You’re my body’s

Sole craving,

You’re on my mind today.

Today a day for

Red, crimson passions.

Today a day for

The lover and his affections.

Today a day for

Me,

And today a day for

You.

Today a day for

Us together at last.

You’re on my mind today.

My spirit rises within,

Taking wings and soaring high above

The stretching world.

All men live below me today,

My love is stronger than before.

And my heart

So set on you.

You’re on my mind today.

Blazing shower water,

Cascades down anticipation’s shoulders.

Soap and shampoo dance the lover’s dance,

To clean my soul for you.

I breathe the steam,

And lick their silky drips.

You’re on my mind today.

I comb and caress my

Sleek black hair.

I fasten and buckle my

Peck-tight shirt

And hip-snug pants.

Shoelaces,

Cologne,

A fury of designer’s

Choice picks

And furtive fancies.

Silver rings,

Necklace clings,

And watch strapped.

I’m ready,

My reflection

A perfect combination

Of blues and grays and whites and blacks.

Navy, ash, pale, and raven

The colors that I wear.

You’re on my mind today.

All the day’s

Long moments,

Inches, yards, time, and money,

Flurries of chilled frosting rain.

Cold and hot.

My emotions arise atop a peak of

Whitecap waves

And powder-soft slopes.

I feel so alive,

So awake,

So in love with you.

You’re on my mind today.

Sun finally killed,

Shot down below horizon’s line.

Sky awash in colored stars,

Speckles of tears

And drops of still darkness.

Like the cheetah across the Sahara,

Like the hawk across the sky,

Like the fishes through the sea,

I fly to you,

Swim to you,

Run to you.

You’re on my mind today.

Across the country,

Across the city,

Across the room,

I see you.

Your there, finally there.

Your eyes like fire,

Your hair like brown painted grasses,

Your mouth like a rose pedaled

In the street of my heart.

My passions arise,

I run to you,

To hold to you

With open arms, open heart, open love,

You’re on my mind today.

The touch of skin

Against skin,

The press of heart

Against heart,

The tug of love

Against wills.

I can’t stop myself,

I must have you,

All of you,

Now

Not then,

Today

Not tomorrow.

Don’t go,

Don’t stay,

Can’t pray

For time to fly,

But for it to slow.

You’re on my mind today.

I step away,

Not letting go,

But holding on.

I look your face over,

To touch it.

It’s cool beneath my skin,

It’s soft to my senses and feelings and heart.

Autumn gaze and glassy haze,

I breathe and pause,

Time moves slow,

So incredibly still.

You’re on my mind today.

Your eyes say come,

Your mind calls mine,

We move, time-captured,

Closer.

I glance your lips so smooth,

Inviting me to taste,

To feel,

To cry,

To live,

And to understand more of you.

You’re on my mind today.

We kiss,

Eyes closed,

Heads tilted to a side,

Chosen at random

And so unknowing, but still

Perfect.

Your touch soft,

Your lips smooth,

Your tongue vibrant,

A gentle blend of sensuous

Gliding warmth against

Mine.

You’re on my mind today.

Hours pass as,

We laugh,

We touch,

We cry,

Amazed and full,

Clean and pure,

Longing for perfect moments,

Spread out before us,

And behind us,

Like time

A waterfall of dreams and loves,

Like skin

A tool of passion and lust,

Like movement

A dream of lust and loves.

You’re finally here and

You’re on my mind today.

Now the moments,

That make life worth living,

Now the feelings,

That make love worth giving,

Now the heartbreaks,

That make you and me stronger.

You’ll be on my mind forever.
