Poem using cold imagery.
Drinking hot coco
By the fire
Much too cold
To be outside
-
The crisp cutting wind
Against your face
The frosty ice box’s
That are your feet
-
Jack Frost niping
At your fingers
Almost numb now
From that cold
-
And I’m inside
In here with my fire
And Charlie Brown on T.V.
And Christmas cookies
-
I can see you
From the window
Next to the igloo
And snow angels
-
You with your snow filled hat
And frozen icy nose
Arms as still as sticks
Buttons out of line
-
I’d bring you inside
Mr. Snowman but,
Mommy says you’ll be fine
All alone in the cold
Outside
