Those innocent days when people had courage, and honorable ways….

Where have they gone?
The dreams of my youth.
Did I forget them?
Are they still on the loose?
Can I reclaim them?
Those innocent days.
When people had courage,
And honorable ways.
Am I a synic?
Or have I been spoiled?
Have I seen to much evil?
That my soul has been soiled?
I hope that I’m wrong.
That Honor Is still there.
that we haven’t forgot.
The reason we are here.
Not for treasure or money.
Not diamonds or gold.
Nor power or fame,
That some long to hold.
We live for our children,
and as we grow wise.
How clearly we see it,
In a new babies eyes.

This is a wonderful poem. And you are not wrong innocents of your youth is not gone. There is courage and honor and it is alive and well. Look in the eyes of the innocents if you think you can not see it any longer.
