Most of us are familiar with quotes from learned men, but here are some wonderful quotes from popular but unsuspecting people.

Most of the well known and admired quotes of the last century are contributed to scholars, writers, religious figures and other brilliant and studied people. But there have been a lot of interesting and worthy quotes from people you wouldn’t necessarily think of as being brilliant or well studied. These are some wonderful lesser known quotes from people whom you’d least expect. These too are observers of life and can put their own perspective on things.

“I believe there’s an inner power that makes winners or loser. And the winners are the ones who really listen to the truth of their hearts.”

-Sylvester Stallone

“You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.”

-Alan Alda

“Our principles are the springs of our actions. Our actions, the springs of our happiness or misery. Too much care, therefore, cannot be taken in forming our principles.”

-Red Skelton

“Sell yourself first, if you want to sell anything.”

-Burt Lancaster

“One of my theories is that men love with their eyes; women love with their ears.”

-Zsa Zsa Gabor

“What we all have in common is an appreciation of kindness and compassion; all the religions have this. We all lean towards love.”

-Richard Gere

“Before I had my child, I thought I knew all the boundaries of myself, that I understood the limits of my heart. It’s extraordinary to have all those limits thrown out, to realize your love is inexhaustible.”

-Uma Thurman

“You would not exist if you did not have something to bring to the table of life.”

-Herbie Hancock

“Love isn’t an emotion or an instinct- it’s an art.”

-Mae West

“If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased.”

Katharine Hepburn

Great article. The last quote by Katherine Hepburn was my favorite. If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased. Also, i liked Alan Alda quote about discovering yourself. Well done.
