Reflections upon an Inspirational Quote by Sylvia Plath. "The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt."

“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”

~Sylvia Plath~

How often have you found yourself with dreams?  Finding a new goal and sitting back to imagine yourself at the finish line, happy and successful?  And how many times have you found yourself starting the project only to hesitate?  Only to let that single seed of self doubt into your mind where it grew to entangle your heart and stop the project before it was ever completed?

If you are anything like I am, you have a strong wish, desire and dream to be creative!  You want to draw those peices of art!  You want to finish those craft projects!  You want to write that book and simply be able to enjoy life knowing that you CAN do those things.  And at the end of the day, you turn back with a wistful sigh upon your lips as you realize how many projects have been started and how many you have let that seed of self-doubt distroy even before they had a chance to begin.

I am horrible for this!  I always second guess myself and as soon as that happens my ambition dies.  My creativity calls up my muse and the two of them go on vacation to Peru and I’m left fumbling and gasping at their smoke outlines.

So please, please, please remember what Sylvia Plath warns us – that Self-doubt is the worst enemy to creativity.  Because its SO TRUE!  Don’t let your hesitation and doubt stop you from discovering what you are capable of, because I promise you it is so much more than you would ever hope to believe.
