Maybe its because I’ve been to old school rap for the past two days but, you got to admit that was when rap was “pure”. So here is my output on who I think were the best rappers of 1990-99.

when was the last time you listen to old school music?

Okay, maybe its because I’ve been to old school rap for the past two days but, you got to admit that was when rap was “pure” compared to now. So here is my output on who I think was the best rappers of 1990-99

Dr. Dre

Formally a member of the rap group n.w.a. Dr.Dre from my view was one of the most influential rappers/producers out there he was truly the “godfather of rap”. (albums produced-“the chronic”, “the aftermath”, “Dr.Dre 2001″)

A Tribe Called Quest

If you have never heard of this group you are ether deaf, 10 years old, or live in a cave very far away from society. A Tribe Called Quest is composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip (Kamal Fareed), rapper Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), and DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A fourth member, rapper Jarobi White, left the group after their first album but appears to have rejoined the group since 2006. This group formed in 1988 and has released 5 albums in ten years which 3 out of the 5 have been highly acclaimed. The group is generally regarded as “pioneers of alternative rap music”. (Albums prouduced-“Midnight Marauders”, “Revised Quest for the Seasoned Traveler”, “Anthology”, “The Low End Theory”, “People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm”, “The Love Movement”, “Hits, Rarities & Remixes”, “Beats, Rhymes and Life [Japan Bonus Tracks]”, “Stressed Out”, “Anthology [Australia Bonus Disc]”, “Award Tour”, “Find a Way [UK]”)

2 Pac

Okay if you have never heard of this artist well you’ve probably been in a coma for 20 years, then put back in one for a century having your body preserved in its original state over the years and lives in a spaceship galaxies away from earth living off of toothpaste and glue. Born Tupac (“tu”pac, 2 pac get it!… nevermind)

Shakur is one of the most well known rappers of all time (as a matter of fact I could call a random person in japan and ask about 2pac and get a full report) tupac is arguably one of the best rappers to exist so far (although his life was cut short by a drive by shooting).

Albums produced-2pacalypse,Strictly 4 my N.I.G.G.A.Z. ,Thug life, Me Against the world, All Eyez on Me, Makaveil, R U still Down?, 2pac’s greatest hits, Still I Rise, The Rose That Grew From The Concrete, Until The End Of Time, Better Dayz, [ its weird, about half his albums were released after his death])

Fun Fact:

There’s a possibility that 2Pac is alive but in hiding

Beastie boys- straight out of New York here are the Beastie boys, “They’re well-known for their eclecticism, jocular and flippant attitude toward interviews and interviewers, obscure cultural references and kitschy lyrics, and performing in outlandish matching suits.” known back then and still today the Beastie Boys live and good vibe beats echo through history as one of the most influential rap groups of all time(albums produced-”Licensed To Ill”, “Check Your Head”, “Paul’s Boutique”, “Ill Communication”, “Hello Nasty”, “To The 5 Boroughs”)
