A Sci-Fi comedy about aliens curious about what human beings do.
You have to have the same suit they’re wearing. I’ll duplicate their uniform inside your jogging suit. Chris, see what numbers they have⦠quickly.
It’s not possible to see all, just make a number we haven’t seen on the screen.
Scot presses a button on their duplicating device that looks like a cellphone, and presto! It’s done. In a while, they’re down on the court as the team enters led by the coach.
This emergency practice session is all about this guy, Sean Rock! We could by-pass the draft pick if everything goes well with you guys and him!
Team aides and assistants start to roll balls into the court. The players pick them up and start to warm up. Others do some stretching. The aliens watch closely how these guys do their thing: Fancy dribbling, backboard alley-oops, a variety of dunks, three-pointers. They next form a semi-circle around the arc for three-pointer practice shots. At this point the coach calls the attention of Sean.
Join them Sean, show them what you’ve got! This is the real thing!
Sean looks at Scot and Chris. Both give him a go ahead sign.
C’mon man. . . show us some stuff
(Throwing a pass to Sean)
At mid-court out-of-bounds, Sean receives the ball. Unconscious about it, he dribbles while taking three steps forward and fires an effortless jump shot — SWISH — all net, right in the middle of the ring!
PLAYERS ON THE FLOOR:
Lucky shot, man! . . . Do that in the final seconds of a tight game! . . . Right on! . . . Let’s play ball!
The players around the arc open up, some go to the side and some under the basket. Alternately, they throw the balls to Sean after he fires a shot from the three-point area. As usual, he makes it all, around ten of them with unerring accuracy! The players are stone quiet with what they witnessed. Next, they tested what he can do in the shaded area. They threw in a succession of balls up in the air and against the backboard. (Flurry of slow-motion full body view) Sean leaps his highest with the intention to dump at least most of the balls in the basket. He made four rapid slams, first two balls caught by both of his hands, the other two bumping them off his arms and catching each again to slam in too! He made three more by tapping them to the ring on his descent. That was seven out of twelve balls thrown up, as motioned by the players.
