A few friends are reminiscing about their high school days and just acting as they did before they left to their respective lives of college, university and work.
It’s just a play or script of some people having fun during one summer after several years of being apart and nothing really has changed.
Ethan, Mia and Karen drive to Damija, a neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur, to smoke grass. When they arrive, Leah gets in the car. They all share a spliff and reminisce, drunkenly.
[Ethan is sat in the driver's seat of his car, sorting out a small handful of weed on a piece of paper. He keeps looking up from his pile a few times]
Could somebody get in my car?
[A short pause]
I don’t want to be alone.
[Karen enters, into the backseat]
What are we doing?
If I ask you to do a huge favour for me, will you do it?
[A long pause]
Depends. Why do you ask so strangely?
Will you just chai this for me?
Chai?
[Mia enters]
Yeah…please.
Chai it…yeah…
I have tobacco.
Oh, what tobacco is it?
Golden Virginia.
Golden Vag! [Laughs]
So what are we doing?
We’re waiting for Leah so she can follow us when we drive to Damija and then we’ll have a smoke there.
This is…interesting music.
[Karen laughs]
No, I was being serious. [Laughs]
So was I!
[Both Karen and Mia laugh]
Car, you lost so much of weight, you look great!
SHUT UP! [Pause] But thank you.
[Mia laughs at Karen]
Okay, Leah’s behind in her car. We can go now.
They all drive to Damija neighbourhood. Now Ethan has rolled the spliff.
[Lights the joint]
Have you tried a blueberry one before?
I’m not too sure what you’re…well, saying to me!
It has a blueberry taste. Quite nice!
That’s great.
[Receives joint from Ethan]
Cheers.
I really like flavoured papers. Car?
Yeah…?
Do you have a spare hair tie I can borrow? Just for tonight.
Um…yeah you can use it. I got my sticks.
[Karen passes Mia the band and joint]
Thank you! Yeah, the sticks look cool!
[Everyone is quiet for a few seconds]
Car, I’m so drunk! I feel ill…
[Passes the joint to Ethan)
Don't think that you'll be sick. Just don't think of it.
[Low moaning from Mia)
DON'T!
Mia?
[Mia keeps moaning]
Mia?
[Pause]
Mia?
…what!?
If you could just tell me if you really feel like you need to be sick I can wind down the back window for you.
