A quick satire on fighting at schools.

15 Minutes of Fame

As you all know, the freshman class of 2013 is known for their fighting, its what they are “famous” for. The upper classmen dislike the freshman class because of it, and the problems that it has caused, like reduced lunch time, and eating boundaries. Since the freshmen are “famous” for fighting we might as well find the positive of it all.

When kids get into fights, one common consequence is expulsion. 26% of kids get expelled from school each year just from fighting. Kids’ get expelled is actually a good thing for the other kids and also the teachers. There aren’t as many kids to keep track of.

Fighting can cause many injuries. The injuries that occur during fights keep the health care workers employed. In this tough economy ever job saved is a good thing. 4% of all kids that have been in a fight have been hurt badly enough to need medical treatment. With all these kids going to the hospital with injuries from fighting, the healthcare workers always have something and someone to work on.

There are about 50% of students that are not participation in the fighting. The other 50% of kids that are fighting make the rest of us look really good even better than we are. The ones that don’t fight will have a better reputation and will be liked more by the teachers and the upperclassmen.

There is an old time saying something about “survival of the fittest.” This could be the freshmen’s way of weeding out the weak to produce a stronger class.
