A tale told in ninety words with a twist or a sweet ending.
It only takes a handful of words to turn a tale into something with a happy ending into a shocking realisation of less pleasant outcome.
Tale With a Sweet Ending
On her way home, Sophie passed by the shell of the bombed out bus station on Everly Road as usual. It was a ghost of a place, left untouched for decades. Oddly though, this time she heard voices and gingerly entered the ruin. Sophie realised she could smell bus fumes, hear the engines and make out people’s shadows in the light of the full moon poring through the shattered roof. Then she heard a peculiar groaning sound. Suddenly, Sophie was pulled clear of the collapsing building. “Close call”, gasped Ross.
