About a guy’s wife dying.

A Broken Heart

On an early november morning the sun was just starting to rise. Light slowly swept across the land and with it despare. A man stood over his wifes hospital bed trying to comfort her. It all seamed so surreal as the doctors rushed in with paddles and shocked her heart trying to restart it. One of the nurses grabbed him and pulled him out of the room. “We’ll let you back in when we can.” She said hurring back into the room. He felt his heart drop. Deep sown inside he already knew the outcome. He sat in the waiting room for three hours waiting hoping for good news. When the doctor came out the expression on his face said everything. Sitting there feeling all alone he broke down and started crying, he knew he would never love again.

The Walk

He got up after a couple of minutes and started walking towards the elevator. When he passed the nurses desk he heard them laughing and joking around. It reminded him of when the two of them were just school children. They meant one day on his brake at work. he was walking up and down the isles in the grocery store looking for something to eat and accidentally walked into her. He turned to apoligize but couldn’t find the right words. It all came out as gibberish and she laughed. He kneeled over to help her pick up her stuff and couldn’t cause his hands wouldn’t stop shaking. She took his hand and asked him to join her. They talked and it was the first time in ever that he felt uniquely happy. When she finally left he was so nervous and out of it he totally forgot to ask for her number. He started kicking himself for it, he could of had someone to care about and he fucked it up.

Library

A couple weeks later he went to the library to do a report for school and ran into her there. When he walked through the door way going into a reading room and saw her there reading a book his heart dropped. he thought that he would never see her again and was trying to deal with it. He started to walk up to her and figured it wasn’t worth it, she proberly wouldn’t even remember who he was. When he turned and started to walk away she jumped up and called to him asking if he remembered her. He felt like he was on top of the world, this time he didn’t forget her number. They went out for a years eventually moving in with each other and all. They were enjoying themselves and eventually the thought of marriage crossed his mind. At first he pushed it off figuring were young and got our whole lives ahead, but after a while he gave in to his emotions and told her that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

Getting Old

They both lived in the same little house they bought when they first married for 50 years till they both died. he died of lung cancer before she died, people say it was from old age but I know better. It was because she couldn’t stand waking up and not having him there to hold her. They had 5 children all grown responsible people with families of their own. They were the perfect american romodels for a young person like myself to look up to. One can only hope that they’d be as lucky.
