This is a story about a dog I wrote. He saves a cat, and the story from the cat’s point of view will be submitted next.
“If any of you want to try and fight me, now’s the time.” I said to them. Apparently, they were headstrong and didn’t back off. All the rest of the cats charged up all at once. I sighed. They never get it, do they?
The first two that came were easy to finish. All it took was one smack to the side of the cat on the right. That cat hit the other cat and they were both knocked out.
The last cat was slightly harder. It was the pack leader. It ran up to me and I swiped out with my paw again. This time, the cat dodged to the side. I tried to jump back, but Kim was preventing me from moving too fast. I got scratched on the side of my head. I knew I couldn’t put Kim down, or they might take her as a hostage, so I just had to take the hit. I once again tried to hit the cat, but I once again got scratched on the side of the head. On the same wound spot too. This time, I didn’t try to hit. I just kept on jumping back. I tried to look for a weakness on the cat.
The pack leader was advancing on me like a cat should be naturally able to do. Sleek, skillful, silently. Very unlike the cats that were attacking me before. This one was experienced. I looked at its gait. It was walking fine, like it should be, and looked like-
Aha! There! A limp!
And again! It was on the cat’s front left leg. I looked more closely at the leg. Almost healed, right at the bottom near the paw, was a wound. If I hit there…
I suddenly jumped forward and swiped my left paw at the cat. Suddenly, everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Like I predicted, the cat started to jump towards my right. In the middle of my swing, I jumped up with my right leg, and landed with my left leg. Unfortunately, I miscalculated on how fast the cat was, and he scratched me on the side of my head again. The scar will now be there forever. That’s just great. I tried to ignore the burning pain in my head and lashed my right paw out at the other cat’s leg. I hit the wound and the cat’s leg crumpled under it. Time resumed its normal speed.
