Once there was a kid named Cameron, who would dread school because he had a problem. His problem was that he was short. The story that you are about to hear will let you understand what kids with problems go through day after day. So the story begins on a Monday morning with Cameron still in bed…

When he woke up that morning he felt something different so he ran to the bathroom mirror to look himself over. He saw nothing so he moaned but then when he looked up he was shocked. He saw that he was looking down on his height scale that he made! He was so ecstatic that he was soon halfway down the stairs to tell his parents, but his parents snickered when he came down. Cameron said, “Why are you laughing?” In reply they said in unison “You have your shoes on!” Cameron looked down and to his disbelief he noticed what his parents said was true. He frowned and trudged up the stairs and back in bed to think of his earlier actions.

He finally got up and told himself that he was going to school today no matter what happened. So he got out of bed, got dressed, and went downstairs to have breakfast. On his second trip down the stairs he found his dog Woofy lying at the bottom of the stairs. He crouched down to greet Woofy but something was terribly wrong. Woofy was foaming at the mouth! Cameron quickly got up, ran to the kitchen, and told his parents in a panic. They ran to where Woofy was and saw to their disbelief that Woofy was foaming at the mouth. They quickly got him into the car and drove him to the veterinarian. When Woofy was admitted in to see the doctor and he quickly concluded that Woofy had just got into the toothpaste tube and was going to be fine besides the fact that he would have a terrible stomach ache.

So on the way home Cameron’s mom said, “Honey, do you still want to go to school?” Cameron said, “Maybe tomorrow, today was too much for me to handle already.”
