A Short Story Written by me, Romas B, about a Drug addict’s life including romance and drama. Thank you for reading. Enjoy.

I moved in with my old jacket in which I found a dose of Heroin. I did not dispose of it because it reminded me the second life I was living and one side of me wanted to go back to that life. I hid it in the house without anyone else knowing about it. My love for Angel was stronger than the desire for Heroin. I kept thinking of a way to throw it away and have a clean life, but I couldn’t. I’ve decided since Angel is the only reason I’m still alive and have gained hope, the drug would be the last enjoyment I would have if anything happens to her.

Angel, you’ve taught me how to live a normal life. Thank you.”

“Aww. No need to thank me. You did it yourself.”

“But I do, I do have to thank you, because you’ve opened a whole new life for me. Not counting that you helped me financially through my business studies… For all of that, I would like to ask you something.”

“What is it?”

“Will you… Marry me?”

“Oh what a beautiful ring, why Yes! Yes!”

“Come! I’ve got a table for us in your favorite restaurant!”

We went out to dinner, and I’ve spent the best hours of my life. Just watching her talk was my cup of tea. Not even tea, it was my whole life. After our fabulous dinner I wanted to take as much care of my Angel that I walked her home, and ran out to do her chore—Grocery shopping. I’ve bought all the most expensive Groceries: fruits—from exotic countries, cheese—imported from Switzerland itself, Candy—Angel’s favorite and the ones I’ve never tried before, and lots of fluffed-animals. As I returned back home I opened the door…

Angel! I’m home! …Angel? …Angel?!”

I look around for Angel; I drop the grocery bags and run into our bedroom. I see a leg, I run over to the other side of the bed, where I find her lying stiff. Falling to the ground I check her pulse, as she has taught me. Nothing. I find a needle stuck to the vein of her right hand. In her other hand was an empty dose of Heroin…

It was my Heroin.
