How a cabin crew who had a little sleep starts a new working day.
Once upon a time, a little girl dressed in blue, dreamt of working in a blue uniform one day. And before work, she was yawning, and wondering what she is doing here at 6 a.m., going to Newcastle instead of being in bed, holding her pillow. This is not glamorous as she imagined, and after the very first day when she got her wings and was so happy with her glamorous aura all around her, all faded after a first exhausting week on the early shift sleeping five hours a day. By the end of the week not even the radiant touch could make the miracle to hide the rings around her eyes.
And the uniform doesn’t fit as nicely as she expected because she never got the right size, so her skirt is too long, being closer to the ankle than to the knee and so making her look shorter. And still she has to smile, being nice to people but making clear that being nice to people is only part of her job so passengers shouldn’t misunderstand it, thinking that that nice smile was only for him.
It’s may be the authority the uniform, a nice and tidy aspect, and a direct tone irradiates, but some people find it very attractive and even confuses them. Anyway, she is surrounded by nice work mates, and work is not very stressful for many of the routes, though today, like every day in flights to the United Kingdom, she will be pretty busy as English passengers are among the most demanding ones. At the end of her shift she will be again very tired, wishing only to have some sleep before dinner and loosing the most of another beautiful and glamorous summer day.
