About the rough travels and adventures in life that a family and their premature baby have in all their lives.
“Jacob” a curse or a protected soul, even before he was born, Jacob was on travel through amazing rough times. Still he would triumphant over each one, one hardship at a time. Before he was born, we knew for sure by the sonar testing that Jacob was a complete term baby. However, he was born premature with tinny white hair covering his back. Jacob also was born with an under develop digestive system, this made it almost imposable for him to digest normal baby food to the point where he could only take in a formula called predigest mill, a foul smelling concoction. I had heard from someone that it was something that had been eaten, digested, then vomited from a goat, or a cow. I believe that was to make it easier for someone like Jacob to digest the first time, all the same, he would spit it up too. This alone stunted Jacob’s ability to grow physically and mentally, this pushed his growth as a person back one and a half years from that of a normal growth rate. This naturally made Jacob weak and thin, which led him to be always hunger; never full, always crying because of his little body was racked with the pain in his stomach.
In the hours Jacob was born, my wife was trying to give birth, our son’s face was up and not down so he could go through the birth canal, as a result his little face was being deformed by the passing minutes. This lead to an emergency “C” section, then because of this difficulty my son was born with his face compressed to a square flatten shape. My fears were accelerated to its limits that Jacob might not live or would be deform his whole life. Thank goodness DR. Smith said, “He will be fine, his head was made to be fixable at his birth and his face will expand back to normal portions in the next few days”. I was not so sure of that, conversely, I trusted in the Dr’s words. They did prove to be right, still Jacobs head grew a kind of a crown with rounded points at the corner of his head.
Before his sixth month of living, Jacob had to go back into the children’s hospital two more times because of his digestive problem that caused earaches and high fever. Meanwhile the hospital had put a baby with the highly contagious meningitis, in the room with Jacob. [Meningitis is” An inflammation of the ménages, and a serious, sometimes fatal sickness in a viral infection causing symptoms of bad headaches, vomiting, stiff neck, and high fever”]. As some thing goes, it was not long before Jacob also developed the same symptoms as the other baby to the point the hospital had to called in a specialist to run blood tests and to have Jacob’s brain scan for signs of trouble. Jacob’s spot at the top of his head was hard for two hour when it was suppose to be soft. The first test did not look good for Jacob, they expected, the doctors and nurses by now believed that he would die of this dilemma, or at least he would become metal retarded.
