This is a short story of how angry one can get and loose all sense of perspective.

In the far corner of the square ‘hotshot’ was parked shining in all its red glory.  In a state of panic and confusion, I suddenly came to my senses.  At that point I realized that my suite was split to the sides, and my fashioned hat as well as my cane could not be located. I also realized that our prom party was minutes away from starting.  Disheveled and ashamed I stubble through the doorway of the hotel lobby and stared into the face of my best friend Johnny.     Startled, Johnny looked at me as if he saw some kind of disaster.  After along silence he finally spoke indicating that a change of suite was in his vehicle and I had only minutes to change.   Exhausted, and after being handed my hat and cane I hastily got into the elevator and made my grand entrance into the ball room. Kimberly was already seated along with several of her girlfriends all pretty and smiling.   Johnny was at the far end pouring drinks and nodded as if he had just seen me for the first time that evening.

My chest began to swell again, and my heart began to beat abnormally.  I must have been under some kind of spell or disillusion.  I should have known my best friends had more standards than that type of behavior the two unknown men had displayed almost an hour ago.   Disgusted with myself another wave of anger started to grip me. My throat became tighten, and once again I felt myself getting upset.  This time I was upset with me for not taking control of my disheartened feelings earlier.  Taking a deep breath and drinking down a fine glass of wine, I began to settle in.   The music, the dance, and the socializing as well as the presence of all my friends made me felt better.   After an unforgettable and most enjoyable evening I happily slipped  into the night on my most prize possession ’hotshot’.
