Went fishing this morning and caught a few things.
I went fishing this morning with my mother for a few hours. We ended up starting about a hour later then what we wanted because when we got to the little conservation park there was firework trash all over from last nights rude drunks and their kids.
When we first pulled up I noticed an empty truck but did not see anyone fishing. I just figured they had a boat and went farther down the quarry. I then noticed a man wearing full camo with a very nice looking video camera on the side bank. I figured he was trying to film some kind of animal “asked him later and he said beaver, but he can never get there early enough”.
As my mother and I unpacked everything from the Jeep we decided where each of us was going to go. She decided to hold down the fort and fish near the Jeep. I on the other hand decided to go farther down where I usually go. After about an hour or so I landed a nice sized channel catfish. Most of the remainder of the morning was a lot of turtles stealing my bait “worms mostly”.
My mother then texted me and said that it was about 10:45 and that we had to take off because she had to meet someone and to use up the remainder of whatever worm I was using and lets go. I then moved down a few clearings down the bank and tossed my hook and bait right by a sunk tree. After waiting about two minutes my line went tight and I set the hook. I landed an even larger channel catfish.
We went back to my mother’s house cleaned the fish had biscuits and gravy and I headed home. What a great morning I had fishing with my mother like the good old times I used to have as a child and what a perfect day with the weather and all.
I hope you enjoyed this short fishing story.
