sara doherty, an american girl, who was knocked down on the ground by a peeding truck and badly wounded many years ago, unfortunately lost her right leg and part of her pelvis.

after she came out of hospital, she began to learn weimming with strong will. during the next winter, she learned to ski again. she trained hard for a long time and at last vecame an excellent disabled sportswoman.
in april,1985, as a member of the american diasbled skiiing team, she gained the fourth in the international disabled skiing games.then immediately after it, she got the fifth in the skiing contest which was held in canada.
on may 19,1985, without her fixed false leg, she carried twenty-five pounds slimbingtools, and more than twenty days later she overcame all kinds of difficulties. finally she worked a miracle- she climbed on the top of Mt Mckinley 6193 meters above sea level, the highest mountain in North America.
