A young teenage girl who throughout the peer pressure, secret love affair, and trying to maintain her good grades in school has lost herself. She has a terrible break down and that starts her quest.
A QUEST IN SEARCH OF…YOU
“Beep! Beep! Beep!”
Ah, the alarm clock, the single most annoying thing in the world.
You stumble on the long and agonizing journey of finding the snooze button, and end up falling off your bed. Well at least that got you up.
You sleep walk your way over to the mirror only to find a hideous troll standing right in front of you. Still confused on how it got there, you fight to tell it to move so you can see your reflection, only to find that it is yourself that you see and not a troll! Man you’re a mess.
So you’ve finish brushing your teeth, taking a shower, fixing your hair and running out of the house just in time to miss mom’s famous lecture.
“ You should always eat a proper breakfast before you go to school. That’s why your grades are slipping…blah, blah, and blah.” Aren’t you lucky?
You’re safe. Or rather free. Free from obligations, free from lectures. Free from the over powering decisions made by your parents. Free from the peering eyes of your annoying siblings that threaten to tell your parents about anything they see you do, say, or look at.
FREE! FREE! FREE, to be YOU!
But wait a minute. You’re not totally free yet. I mean are we forgetting about school? It’s true you have freedom, but only to a certain degree.
At school you have teachers who expect you to learn and concentrate at a certain level. Friends and peers that expect you to look and act a certain way, but that’s no big deal is it? I mean you still have more freedom than if you were at home, the freedom to be YOU. Well at least I think?
Who am I? Am I what my teachers and friends expect me to be? And if so, am I really making my own decisions, living my own life, or was it better I stayed home?
This confession is about learning when to live your own life and stop caring about the pressures of friends, teachers, parents, and completing the greatest search know to mankind. THE QUEST OF FINDING…. YOU.
“Ewww, Cheri what’s going on here?”
