This a story about a woman who was texting and driving and ended up in a head on collision.
Just as she hit the curve on Chesapeake Mountain a truckcame around the curve and there they were coming into a head on collision. She had been texting when she came around the curve and not really paying attention to the road in front of her,and now as she panicked she new she would die, first the car hit the truck and then bounced off the guardrail and then over the mountain she went, she kept expecting the great fall but instead landed with a hard thump on the top of a group of trees.
She was stunned and badly hurt by the collision, thinking that help would soon be there she tried to move and soon discovered that any movement just cause the car to tilt. She sat very still, praying that someone would come soon. The truck driver from the accident was finally able to pull over and come to her aide. I remember him yelling Mam are you okay? And I remember yelling at the top of my lungs to get help that i was hurt and that the car was going to go over.
I was so afraid,I remember thinking that i had dinner to fix and the kids were do home at three. I wondered if my husband had made it home yet. About that time the ambulance showed up and the wrecker. First they tried tying themselves off to the guardrail and soon realized that wouldn’t work so they tied off to the wrecker, and was soon able to pull me out.
The ambulance checked me out,I had only gotten and few bumps and bruises, but i was very grateful to be alive. It was embarrassing that i had,had a wreck just because i was texting. I had heard so many news reports on teenagers and adults being killed because they were texting while driving and here i was doing the same thing. Hadn’t i learned anything by listening to all the news reports on the deaths caused by texting.
Once i got home that night i sat down with my kids and told them what i had done hoping that they would learn by my mistake, and praying to God they were listening.
