A story of the courtship of a couple in Aussie land, downunder.
There is a gentleman who likes to involve himself in too much work. He despise waisting time by strangers who are involve in no less than other affairs and not themselves. His name is Roger, an honest to goodness fellow who works as a computer consultant. His life is work Mondays to Fridays, personal chores on Saturdays, and relaxation with Church activity on Sundays. He liked living in dormitories because he could use his travels as good times to meet tourists and become instant friends.
There is a traveller from England, who is a sole daughter and spoiled at that who stayed in his dorm (separate for girls’ room) on her way to waiting for time to her applications for work. Her name is Mandy, an honest and gorgeous lady who is looking for a fine gentleman. She likes adventures and fondles on her male friends to bullying games outdoors and fun board games like dominoes, scrabbles and even chess.
They met on Saturday morning along the corridor of the second floor kitchen. She was just off her shower and she was wearing a piece of towel. So she smells very very good. He has been cooking fried eggs and toasting his bread for his usual breakfast. They said hi’s and hello’s and introduced themselves to each other.
On her way to her room, a Korean tourist walking upstairs saw her bare essence from below. He is laughing all the way to where Roger is at the time. The Korean tourist is the neighbor room of Roger, Tran. Roger defended Mandy by giving a warning because English ladies are known ‘not flirtatious at all’. This impressed Mandy for she heard of their conversation. The two (Roger and Mandy) that day onwards talked each night after work, they sometimes have dinner together while they alternate preparing whichever has gone home first. A love fluorished in the air. Everyone in the dormitory learnt of the affair. Until the time came, Mandy had to go home. (This was a joke on Roger, she just moved to the nearby other dorm to get away from the Koreans staying next to Rogers’ room). She did not tell Roger that Tran and his friends have been trying to buy off her ‘feminity’ because of her alluring scent.
Roger was keen about it and he fought Tran after knowing that Mandy moved about the next dorm on the road. Later, he followed Mandy and almost like a ‘bullet fired’ on the air, they are back together again in each others arms where they almost belong. Love has its ways of making people express each heartfelt emotions whether one is secretive while the other is like a philanthropist. They deserve a happy ending wherever they maybe now. Would you believe the lovers admit the true names they have? Roger is Gerry while Mandy is Michelle Ann.
