The Babylon Matrix is held within a meta-technological Cube. On the Cube’s six sides are the bizarre symbols of an unknown language. It floats on its own power. Beware, O mortal, lest you touch it and become utterly confused. Light will turn to dark and dark to light in the wielder’s mind, unless the hands of an Elemental wield it.

He who wields the Babylon Matrix can alter the unseen quantum realm, so much so that it affects reality. A flower can become a snake, a snake can become a rock, a rock can become whatever the wielder chooses. But let the wielder beware! If the Light of the Lord enters the Cube, then it and the Elemental wielding it will be destroyed. And no matter who wields it, if the Cube is destroyed, then its Bondmate, the Elemental named Babel, will be destroyed also, for he and the Babylon Matrix are essentially one and the same.

Long ago, among all Elementals, only the Mistress of Time and Chance could defeat Babel and put him to sleep. Now Babel is about to awaken, and the Matrix with him. Only the Wielder of the White Hand, with access to the Power of Light Without Measure at Need, can destroy them both.
