This story is about one’s struggles as a person and the hardships that had to be overcome. Each article will be about a story in my life. I hope that upon reading it you will be inspired to continue life with hope.
September 11, 1990. A little blond haired blue eyed baby was born at St. Marys Hospital in Apple Valley California. She was the first child born to her parents, Joe and Teresa. (We will leave out the last names). The mother, had the baby girl practically alone in the hospital. The only family member there was Teresa’s mother. The baby’s dad had not been there, although his name was to be put on the birth certificate. You could say the baby was normal. Ten fingers, ten toes. 8lbs.5 oz.
This is memory that is not mine. It is one that has been shared from my mother. It seems only right to narrate in third person since the memory is not original to me.
I often think as far back as my mind will let me. And the furthest it will go is back to a time when I was about 3 and it was dark outside. My mother and my father where with me and we were playing in a park. I was on a see-saw and he was pushing the see-saw up and down slowly. It seems as if it has gotten blurry over the years. But that was all I remember of my father at that age.
From what I recall my mother lived in California when she met my father. I have been told that they met at a beauty school. My father was convinced by his friend to attend this school. My father was persuaded and then introduced himself to my mother. The rest is unclear. But I do know that the first time they were intimate my mother got pregnant with me.
The rest is history.
