Once upon a time there was a knight who roamed the land looking for a fight wherever he went. His name was Sir Richard of Banner, and he was well feared throughout the countryside. Knights would line up to take a shot at him, and so it got to the point where he no longer had to search for his fights; they just came to him. The seasons passed and over time the knight grew old and weary of his triumphs. He took a house with a wife and had several children, and his chief delight was watching them play under the apple tree in the front yard. Eventually he came to find himself on his death bed, and a lone wandered came in to ask him what his secret.
