According to preliminary information to law enforcement officials, the explosion was made by a suicide bomber. His body, covered with newspapers, was showed by NTV (television channel).
Head of Security in Istanbul, Hüseyin Chapkyn confirmed to journalists about 15 wounded. Six of the wounded – policemen, he said, adding that in fact the incident is under investigation. The explosion occurred at 10.40 local time in one of the central areas of the city on the shores of the Bosphorus, where it is always crowded.
In the area of Taksim Square deployed additional police units and ambulances.
While none of the active radical groups in Turkey has claimed responsibility for the blast in Istanbul.
Earlier acts of violence in the Turkish metropolis, usually were made by Kurdish separatists that along 25 years of power seeking autonomy in parts of Turkey.
At least 25 people were killedand 70 wounded in the attack, which occurred on Friday evening, Oct. 29, in the Iraqi town of Balad Ruz (Balad Ruz), reported Agence France-Presse, with reference to the local police.
According to local police, suicide bombers detonated an explosive device in one of the cafes of the city of Balad-Ruz, 70 km northeast of Baghdad.
