Another adventure where Jake save the day!
1
Jake was sitting in front of the living room window, starring at the road, willing his mommy and his daddy to come back. They had left him home right after breakfast for the airport, where his human sister Ellie was suppose to arrive from a school trip.
As usual when his parents had to leave for a few hours, his mommy had left him with strict instructions. She didn’t know how he was doing it, but she knew that he was able to escape the house by himself and get into mischief in the forest behind the house. So the first thing she told him was to stay home, inside.
The reason; the night before, she had gave him a bath (Erk!), clipped his nails (double Erk!) and she had cleaned his bed. Amongst the other instructions: Don’t go on the furniture (no chance for that, mommy, I’ll be busy making sure my bed smells right by walking all over it!) Don’t go into the trash can, don’t go into the dirty clothes basket and don’t chew on anything that doesn’t belong to you.
So here he was, with nothing left to do but wait. But just in case he got too bored, he kept his bone close to him.
After an hour or so, Jake heard something. The sound was inaudible for the human ears, but Jake heard it. His tail started to wag softly, going faster as the sound got closer.
When his daddy’s car appeared in the driveway, he couldn’t contain his excitation anymore. He jumped on the window pane and started barking. Loudly. The car stopped and Jake’s heart stopped too, for a second… until the back door opened and Ellie got out of the car.
Her hair caught some sunrays and she looked like she was surrounded by a golden light and, for Jake, she looked like a princess.
Oh no, thought Jake. I can’t wait anymore!
Jake ran to the front door, barking so that his mommy or his daddy would open it.
As soon as his mommy answered his bark and opened the door, Jake ran outside, flying over the steps and jumping on his Ellie.
Ellie wasn’t surprised by Jake’s love attack. She was even prepared because she had left her bags in the car.
