A Vacation In The Wrong Direction.

A Vacation In The Wrong Direction

Wheel in, Wheel in, and roll in, roll in, roll in. This was a trailer road trip for the Martin’s once in a lifetime cross country adventure. However, what you are about too read is that this vacation was more rocky than the mountains itself, and what an off ramp is too a detour. Cindy, John, Judy and Tim Martin started packing for the trip including preparing the dog for the trip, and outlining the routes on the map that will be taken, providing you understand how too read a road map. It was 5:00 am August 19, 1990, a Tuesday, and it was time too hit the road, and avoid the heavy traffic that might be anticipated. The Martin’s departed from their home at 1330 Pacific Street in Brooklyn, New York, but then realized that Bobby, their family dog was missing. Now Bobby, their faithful companion was on the pavement whining, because he was left behind. However, the Martin’s tracked back, and picked up Bobby.

They are now heading for the Verrazano Narrows Bridge in Brooklyn into Staten Island spear heading too the New Jersey Turnpike. The Martin’s are now on Interstate 95 New Jersey Turnpike, John talking too his wife Judy and then he will switch over too Interstate 87. No problem here. However, while the family were all taking a nap, John decides too take a back road which led too nowhere. His trailer came face too face with a cow on the road, which the cow was in the middle of the road, and being the cow was wide, and so was the trailer, made it impossible too get by. So what did John do, he blew his horn and temper? The cow just looked, “I know you are not horning at me”. By now, the entire family had awaken, and asking John, “What is going on ?”. He stated, “the cow is in the way on the road”. John decides too get out, and push the cow, but too  no prevail, the cow wouldn’t move. What did move was the cow’s calling card, his feces on John’s shoes. John went back too the trailer too clean off, but only too try another attempt in getting the cow too move, he decided too hit the cow with a switch. Bad move on his part as the cow took his left leg, and kicked John to the other side of the road. Later without warning, the cow moved itself. We’re on the road again, but this time a flat tire. John gets out again too change the tire, and tires are exchanged, and the Martin’s are off again returning too I-95 of the New Jersey Turnpike. After the ordeal, they managed too make it too Pennsylvania. The Martin’s are now on the Pennsylvania Turnpike cruising at 70, but the speed limit is 65. Out jumps the Pa Turnpike Patrol out of nowhere, and issue’s John Martin a ticket. That is the price you pay when you visit PA. Well, let’s move fast forward, and we have arrived in the state of Wyoming. Looking at the wining roads, and mountain terrain. Driving, driving, it was starting too rain, and it was coming down heavy, and a blinding fog began to surface with lack of visibility. All of a sudden, the motor goes out. The Martin’s are now stuck in the middle of nowhere, but how do you summon help, you could use your cell phone, but no signal and no gas station for miles. Not even an horse was near by. John had to similarly wait. Did I also mention, the Martin’s trailer is also stuck in mud. Let’s pray big foot doesn’t show up, otherwise, it could turn into an adventure of the wrong kind. John’s wife stated, “she didn’t like being in the midst of the tree’s and open space. Eat or be eaten, survive or be killed comes too mind.
