STORY OF A WINDY DAY.
The wind sweeps over the grasses, forcing them flat and making the field-mice hurry for shelter, muttering “What a wind! What a wind!”
The wind takes no notice.
That’s what the wind’s meant to be, WINDY!
It blows the clouds across the gusty blue sky and swoops low over the head of a man in a floppy hat. The man snatches at his hat as the wind grips it.
But too late and up and up and up in the air the hat sails high in the blue sky.
“OH! Bother the wind!” puffs the man.
“OH! Bother the wind!” say the trees, bending their heads and losing their leaves all red and gold.
